How to transcribe Zoom meetings with no bot
Pauta captures your computer audio during the Zoom call and transcribes on the device itself. You do not need the host to turn on Zoom recording, and no bot joins the room.
Step by step
- Open Pauta on macOS or Windows.
- Join the Zoom call as usual.
- Pauta notices the meeting and records, or you turn recording on whenever you want.
- After the call, open the transcript and the summary in Pauta.
What matters on Zoom
- Zoom recording depends on the host allowing it. Pauta records the audio reaching your computer, without going through that permission.
- Zoom may show a notice when its own recording is on. Pauta does not appear in the call, so telling participants is your decision.
- Recordings are organized by project, and the AI answers across all the meetings on the same topic.
What Pauta does not do
- Pauta runs on macOS 13 or later and on Windows 10 and 11. The iOS and Android versions are still being built.
- It does not show up in the meeting participant list, so telling people the conversation is being recorded is up to you.
